Loss of interest in hobbies and daily activities

Fatigue or lack of energy

Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

Changes in appetite or weight

Therapy for Depression
Therapy is one of the most effective ways to address depression. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings while learning practical coping skills to manage your symptoms. Some of the therapy approaches we use to treat depression include:

-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A structured form of therapy that helps you identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to your depression.
-
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Combines mindfulness practices with traditional therapeutic techniques to help you stay grounded in the present and manage emotional distress.

Medication Management

For some individuals, medication can play a vital role in managing depression. Our psychiatrists at MorMindful are experienced in assessing whether medication is necessary and will work closely with you to find the right balance of therapy and medication. Medications such as antidepressants can help alleviate symptoms, but our goal is always to support your overall mental health and well-being.

The Dream
a poem by Dr. Blair Mor
She’s there when I’m alone
She’s here when I’m with you
She takes away my everything
And spreads it out like glue

She sticks to me at work
She clings to me in crowds
I try to wash her off of me
through this faded shroud

She covers me when I’m happy
She smothers me when I am sad
She tells me, “Please stay in tonight.”
She shows me when I’m bad

I’ve walked with her hand-in-hand
Through landscapes dark and bright
I’ve tried to get away from her
I kick and scream and fight

Yet! There’s something she doesn’t know
Today it spoke to me deep within my bones
He said we can beat her together, you’ll see
We’ll use something stronger than stones.

He whispered in my ear so low
All the trees swayed and rustled
And as my lips began to curl
I saw a new path, along it lined with muscle

And with-it freedom bloomed!
Gently he cooed, “Shhhh, don’t cry my dear.”
We can end this here tonight
Gesturing patiently as if he’d like to steer

Suddenly though what’s that sound?
My own petulant laughter erupted.
“I see right through you.” I said.
Nice try! You’re just her inverted.

The weaker they became
I laughed and wagged my tongue
Grabbing my intention, stillness, and compassion
Closed my eyes, took a breath, and swung.

She screamed at me
Spit flying in my face
He towered over me and yelled
March back in your place
But just as bullies often do
They wept and ran away
And left me standing here
To see another day…
